lyrics/Kasak

Hindi Lyrics: jaana hain jaana hain
chalte hi jaana hain
na koi apna hain na koi thikana hain
sab raastein naraaz hain
manzil ki aahato se raahi begaana hain
jaana hain jaana hain
chalte hi jaana hain
sab raastein naraaz hain
manzil ki aahato se raahi begaana hain
jaana hain jaana hain
chalte hi jaana hain
har jagah rehtey hain saaye afsaano ke
apno se lagte hain chehre anjano ke
aake sehrao mein guchhe khil jaate hain
ajnabi modo pe apna mil jaata hain
rup is jeevan ka kisne pehchana hain
jaana hain jaana hain
chalte hi jaana hain
rang koi jaane na lamho ke mausam ka
ek pal khushiyo ka dusra pal gam ka
kar yakeen kar le yakeen socha na tu kalki
aaj ki parwah kar soch na tu kal ki
is gali se nikle phir wahi aana hain
jaana hain jaana hain
chalte hi jaana hain
na koi apna hain na koi thikana hain
sab raaste naraaz hain
manzil ki aahato se raahi begaana hain
jaana hain jaana hain
chalte hi jaana hain

Hindi Lyrics: yeh zindagi berang thi tumne sajaya ise
dekhe hasi khwabo ke pal rangin banaya ise
aake tumhari baahon mein mujhe lagta hain duniya mil gayi
yeh zindagi berang thi tumne sajaya ise
dekhe hasi khwabo ke pal rangin banaya ise
tum rub ru baithi raho
main tumko dekha karu
tanhai mein tumse sanam
main dil ki baatein kahu
madhosh hain madhoshiya
kehti hain ab khamoshiya
na gumsum raho tum
yeh ashknaama mehka sama
tumne dikhaya ise
dekhe hasi khwabo ke pal
rangin banaya ise
tum jo miley lamhe khile
jeene ka matlab mila
chalta rahe saari umar
ye dilnashin silsila
in surmai zulfo tale
so jaao tum lagke gale
bhula ke jaha ko hote hain kya
darde sada tumne banaya ise
dekhe hasi khwabo ke pal
rangin banaya ise
aake tumhari baahon mein mujhe lagta hain duniya mil gayi

Happy Halloween!

What is Halloween?
Happy Halloween guys! It's already the 31st of October...and wow its almost Thanksgiving and X'mas!
Anyway, when I was a kid, what I knew about Halloween Day was limited. I've always thought that Halloween was similar to what the Chinese call the 'Ghost Festival'. Or in kerala they have a feast of the Dead..... I know, I know...a bit ignorant then...but soon found out that Halloween stands for 'All Hallows Eve'. However, I've never went digging on it's history and customs...till today.
Thanks to the power of Google, one can find information with simply a click of the mouse (well, OK plus typing a few words). There were a few sites I manage to find. The first one is from Halloween.com and they offered a short explaination of what Halloween is all about based on a Christan perspective (some Episcopalian (e.g. Protestant) perspective). This is what it says:
Since the eigth century Christians have celebrated All Saints' Day on November 1 to celebrate the known and unknown Christian Saints. Saints are not just those whom the Church has canonized, but all members of that "cloud of witnesses" who proclaim Jesus as Lord - including you and me!
Almost as old as the celebration of All Saints' Day is the tradition associated with All Hallow's Eve. ("Hallows" mean "saints," both mean "holy ones." As in "Hallowed be thy name.") So, Halloween means "the evening before All Holy Ones' Day." Today we call that festival Halloween and we have many secular ways of recognizing it. However, it's important to remember that its celebration has a long, positive history in the Church.
What sort of history is that? Like many of our liturgical festivals (Christmas and Easter included), All Saints' Day and All Hallow's Eve have some connection to pagan festivals. People of many races and cultures have remembered their dead and have had superstitions about death itself. Christians remembered death itself on All Hallow's Eve and celebrated Christ's victory over death. During the Middle Ages, Christians would gather in Churches for worship and they would remember the saints' victories over evil. Likewise they would put on little displays showing Jesus' victory of Satan, often using unusual masks and costumes to act out the story.
Thus, the festivities on All Hallow's Eve was the Christian's way of laughing at death and evil, something we can do in certain hope of Christ's victory over the powers of darkness. The Church for centuries, however, has seen All Hallow's Eve not as a glorification of evil, but as a chance to affirm eternal life in the face of the death of our mortal bodies.
For a more indepth description of the Pagan customs still practiced today, I find this site pretty helpful. Here it explains where the trick-or-treating and the Jack-o-lantern custom originated from. It's an interesting read - at least I seem to know more now than half-an-hour ago....... Talk to all soon!!

Stupidity

President Bush can't escape criticism! He nominates Miers and the Republicans are upset because they know nothing about her. Miers resigns. Bush nominates Alito and the Democrats are up in arms because he's too much like extremely conservative Scalia! Whether or not you support/like the choice of Alito (or that of Miers), you've got to give credit to Bush; he could care less about what his own party thinks he should do or what the Lib's will say or how they Lib's will react! What the Dem's and the Republicans must keep in mind is that nominating justices to the Supreme Court is the President’s choice. He doesn't have to consult with anyone. If he thinks they will do the job, ok. It's up to the Senate to either confirm or reject the President's nomination. So, the Dem's need to get over the fact that the President didn't consult with them about nominating Alito. Bush can do whatever he wants - his prerogative.Another issue that has been raised is the disappointment by some (mainly women) that another woman was not nominated. Ok, since when is there a reserved seat for a woman, or any gender or race on the Supreme Court? A nominee must only meet one qualification: BE QUALIFIED. Miers was accused of not being qualified, so Bush said, "Ok, I'll give you someone qualified!" Here comes Alito. Despite his views or beliefs, NO ONE can say, "he's not qualified." That excuse worked with Miers, it won't work with Alito. Back to the female justice thing...I'm not a woman but it does not matter what the gender is!!!!! Its not like being sony C or somebody that believes in gender! It's not like O'Conner was a stellar judge and Ginsberg, I can't wait for that ACLU supporting judge to be off! If you've noticed, it's only women or minorities who raise the issue equality: "We need to be represented." Hello? You are being represented. It's just not who you think should represent you, but that's not your choice to make. Deal with it! Get over it! You think you being discriminated against, I think not! The most discriminated group of people in this country are white males, and you don't hear them whining and complaining that they lose jobs because companies have to meet an EEO standard! If the person is qualified, that's ALL that matters! Alito is qualified! A woman wasn't nominated, big deal!!!!

No and Im Not a Republican!

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting, but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything.

Don't believe me? Go on to see just how prison is better than work. IN PRISON...you spend the majority of your time in an 8X10 cell. AT WORK...you spend the majority of your time in a 6X8 cubicle. IN PRISON...you get three meals a day. AT WORK...you only get a break for one meal and you pay for it. IN PRISON...you get time off for good behavior. AT WORK...you get more work for good behavior. IN PRISON...the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you. AT WORK...you must carry around a security card and open all the doors for yourself. IN PRISON...you can watch TV and play games. AT WORK...you get fired for watching TV and playing games

Market bombs kill more than 50 in New Delhi Posted :25 Hours,25 minutes Ago
Firefighters arrive at the scene of an explosion in Sarojini Nagar market in New Delhi October 29, 2005.

By Palash Kumar NEW DELHI - Three powerful bombs tore through New Delhi markets packed with families and shoppers on Saturday ahead of the biggest Hindu and Muslim festivals of the year, killing more than 50 people and wounding scores. Charred bodies, blood, glass and smoking debris littered the scenes as rescuers frantically pulled out the dead and injured while thousands of shocked survivors milled around trying to find out what had happened to missing relatives.
The blasts occurred within minutes of each other, killing more than 50 people, officials said. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh declared the coordinated attack an act of terrorism, adding that it was too early to speculate who was responsible. "There was a huge sound," said Sunita, who lives near one of the markets, in an area popular with foreign backpackers. "I saw many people lying on the ground. I saw a child's arm cut off and somebody else's brain smashed out. It was very bad. Very bad," she added. Singh and other officials called for calm and police in the financial capital, Mumbai, put the city on high alert. Markets around Delhi closed as emergency vehicles battled their way through gridlocked streets. "He is very distressed," Singh's spokesman told reporters. "India will never be defeated by terrorism." Singh cut short a visit to the eastern city of Kolkata to return to Delhi to chair an emergency meeting of the cabinet's security committee.
India has blamed previous attacks in the capital on Pakistan-based militants, including one on parliament in 2001 that killed more than a dozen people and brought India and Pakistan to the brink of nuclear war. However, the country is also racked by scores of rebellions and in May two cinema blasts blamed on Sikh separatists killed one person and injured dozens of people. U.S. WARNING The United States has warned its citizens of a possible terrorist attack on U.S. interests in Delhi and elsewhere and Indian authorities are hunting a suspected al Qaeda operative here. The city's American Embassy School cancelled classes on Monday after Saturday's attacks.
"We saw bodies terribly charred, limbs missing. It was a horrible sight, a terrible sight," one British tourist told NDTV television. "Don't let the terrorists win." The first blast was reported in the Paharganj district, near the main New Delhi railway station and an area popular with foreign backpackers. Shopkeepers cleared their carts and used them as makeshift stretchers to rush victims to hospital. Other explosions occurred at South Delhi's Sarojini Nagar, one of the largest markets, popular with foreigners, the rich and ordinary people, and in Govindpuri, a southern suburb. Delhi state Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said the attacks were clearly planned to cause terror and urged people to stay home for the next few days.
"It is something that has been planned, that is quite obvious," she told reporters. "It's a very sad day for all of us. The fact that these blasts came and took away so many lives has dampened our spirits and made us feel very sad." On Tuesday, Hindus celebrate Diwali, or the festival of lights, and later in the week Muslims end the fasting month of Ramadan with Eid al-Fitr. Delhi's 14 million people are mostly Hindu, as in the rest of India, but there are about 1.7 Muslim residents in the city. As with previous attacks, Pakistan immediately condemned "these terrorist blasts".
Indian officials said the powerful explosive RDX was used in the attacks, which occurred as Indian and Pakistani officials met in Islamabad to discuss how to open their border in Kashmir to help the victims of the South Asia earthquake. The explosions took place at dusk on a fine autumn evening, with Delhi's markets and streets lit up with fairy lights and crammed with families, holidaymakers and shoppers dressed in their colourful best for the festivals. The wail of sirens was punctuated by the almost continuous sound of fireworks for Diwali. Some officials said the toll could have been higher if the blast had set off any of the stores of fireworks packed in shops and homes. The blast at Govindpuri occurred near an overcrowded bus and could have been much worse, officials said.
